Vancouver-0907 - Weather Vancouver: Summer heat hits 30°C before mid-week showers

Vancouver-0907

A beginning of week marked by intense summer heat is gripping the region of Metro Vancouver, with inland temperatures expected to reach 30°C (86°F) on Monday, July 7, and a humidex making it feel as hot as 32°C (89.6°F). The UV index is forecast at 8, classified as very high, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

The weather remains changeable, as typical of early July on the West Coast. After Monday’s heat, conditions will shift significantly with showers returning Tuesday evening and persisting through Wednesday.

Mid-week in Metro Vancouver will bring a notable drop in temperature, with daytime highs near 19°C (66.2°F) on Wednesday and 21°C (69.8°F) on Thursday. Overnight lows are expected around 13°C (55.4°F). Humidity will decrease, making for a cooler and more comfortable atmosphere.

By Friday, July 11, forecasts indicate sunny skies and a high of 23°C (73.4°F), offering a warmer and drier preview heading into the weekend.

Despite the cooling trend mid-week, residents across Vancouver, particularly in inland communities like Surrey, Burnaby and Langley, should still be prepared for both intense sunlight and possible showers. The rollercoaster weather pattern reflects the influence of marine air masses and inland heating, typical of British Columbia’s coastal climate in early summer.
